Badging Models in Faculty Development: Building Faculty Connections and Empowering Growth

Badging can be used in faculty development efforts to demonstrate accomplishments. Badges can also serve as motivation for some faculty seeking improvement and to demonstrate growth. This system can be connected to aspects important to the faculty role, including rank, tenure, merit raises, and demonstration of university and community service.

Pedagogical Workshop Series: A Different Model

This is a case study of the impact that changing the model of a pedagogical workshop series has had on faculty and graduate student participation and feedback. The model’s advantages and disadvantages, as well as its potential and eventual impact on student learning, will be discussed.
