Good To Great: Focusing the University of Guam Student Experience, Academic Priorities, and Community Impact
This session presents the University of Guam’s Good to Great transformation. This has been a 3-year Presidential initiative that touches on all aspects of the university, from academic programs to administrative support units to student success. The initiative also took a self-reflective examination of the university’s role in contributing to the positive good and Western Pacific region. This session will consist of three parts. The first focuses on improving the student experience, specifically developing and implementing the inaugural First-Year Experience endeavor. The second will address how we used the Dickeson / Collins approaches to prioritize our academic programs, to offer the needed breadth to our students, while allowing increased resources to programs in a challenging financial environment. The final portion will highlight our public value through selected high-impact community engagement activities.
