Special Interest Group: Fostering Cultures Of Assessment at Research-Intensive Universities

In the past two decades, principles of outcomes assessment practices have been implemented at institutions across the country. This session is an opportunity for assessment and academic leaders from the region’s research-intensive universities to explore the challenge of fostering cultures of assessment that complement and enhance institutional missions of serving the public good through research. Possible topics of discussion include: leveraging the research culture for assessment; engaging research faculty; addressing common challenges, such as supporting assessment efforts across diverse disciplines and with large undergraduate and graduate enrollment. Participants are encouraged to bring tools, strategies, and success stories to share, as well as questions they’d like the group to address during and after the meeting.
